How this is calculated

Hard value is money you would otherwise spend: breakfast you would buy, credits you will use, fees waived, and points earned if you value them. Personal value, such as lounge access or a late checkout, is your own estimate and is never merged into the price.

effective hard cost = cash outlay - credits used - (points earned x your value per point)
including personal values = effective hard cost - your personal values   (labelled view)
